Be Part of Our Movement!
The Foundation is always looking for ways to give back to the community, especially because of the importance and role artistic expression has on a child’s development. The Foundation is excited to share with you some of its campaigns that will further allow its goals to get achieved.
Sneakers 2 Succeed (S2)
The Sneakers 2 Succeed, or S2, is a national initiative created in partnership with the former NBA star Chris Duhon’s Stand Tall Foundation. The mission is to collect new and gently used sneakers for families in need. Since its launch, S2 has made its way to California, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Texas. S2 has collected over 2,500 sneakers and made donations to 14 national and local charities.
As a result of the success of S2 campaign The Art of Stepping™ (“AOS”) announced the launch of the “AOS2S” Youth Step, sponsored in part by Nickelodeon, national campaign. This campaign was created by The Art of Stepping to target childhood obesity through stepping and promote artistic expression.
These one-day camps will take place in several different locations across the country, inspiring young people to get active and contribute to a good cause. As admission into the camps, participants must donate a pair of gently used and/or new sneakers which will be given to families in need. Only one (1) organization will have the opportunity to receive a FREE After School Program lead by the award winning Remo & Art of Stepping™ programs. This interactive and innovative program was created for K-12 participants based on a tested curriculum that teaches the stepping art form through the use of mathematical formulas utilizing Leonardo Da Vinci’s – The Vitruvian Man as a symbolic base. Children will learn the core fundamentals to The Art of Stepping and create original choreography. Most importantly all participants will become more physically and mentally active.
